This Christmas, guests are invited to join the line up of royalty and rockstars that have called The Grand Hotel home for a night, as festive decor and installations will adorn the walls of selected guest suites from 2nd November – 31st December. Bookings are now open via the hotel’s website.
Three suites will be transformed in partnership with Light Up Christmas, all complete with intricately decorated Christmas trees and themed around classic Christmas vintage, winter florals and tradition-with-a-twist, to create a festive wonderland for guests.
The “Dickens’ Christmas” suite will have a classic festive feel, drawing on nostalgic traditions. Combining traditional décor with warm textures, the suite will evoke a timeless elegance, providing a cosy place to relax.
A “Mulled Wine” suite will be dressed with luxurious burgundies, deep purples and warm browns and accented with real dried orange slices, pomanders studded with cloves, cinnamon stick bundles, star anise & berries, to create a festively fragrant space.
The final suite, “Florals … for Christmas?” takes inspiration from the iconic line from The Devil Wears Prada. Set to deliver a unique spin on the usual décor themes of the season, the room will be laden with stunning floral displays.
Originally opened in 1879 and designed by Thomson Plevins, The Grand Hotel is a Grade II* listed Victorian masterpiece. Not only will the suites come alive with festive cheer, but the entire hotel will blend its historic grandeur with delicate sparkles of glass decorations and deep Bordeaux tones, evoking classic Christmas glamour with a modern touch.
Johan Scheepers, General Manager of The Grand Hotel Birmingham, said: “Beyond the doors of the hotel, Birmingham comes alive each Christmas, with festive markets, glittering shopping streets, as well as the best dining, music and theatre, all just moments away. It seems only fitting that we lean into the festive cheer, offering guests the ultimate festive escape during their stay.”
Louise Walsh, Co-Founder of Light Up Christmas, said: “It’s all about teamwork and organisation – we’ve worked with The Grand Hotel Birmingham, year on year, and each time we love to experiment with new ways to fuse current trends with classic Christmas traditions. We can’t wait to bring the festive magic and see our designs spring to life as guests begin to stay in the suites”.
Guests can also give the gift of an elegant, luxurious experience with a gift card to friends and loved ones, whether it’s enjoying a cocktail or decadent afternoon tea in the luxurious setting of Madeleine Bar, experiencing the magic of Downstairs at The Grand in Isaac’s or adding an extra touch of luxury with a massage in their suite.
Gift cards can be redeemed for a hotel stay, in Madeleine’s, the hotel bar, or at Isaac’s, the hotel restaurant.
The Grand Hotel Birmingham’s festive suites are available to book now from 2nd November to 31st December.
