Riverine Rabbit began its journey in Cape Town, South Africa, before finding its home in Stirchley, Birmingham. Founded by Ash, who relocated to the UK to build a life with her wife Erin, the restaurant evolved through a year of pop-ups in the UK and abroad before settling into its permanent space. The name reflects deep family roots in the Karoo Desert and a commitment to sustainable farming practices that protect vulnerable species. Despite its geographical shift, the ethos remains unchanged: thoughtful sourcing, sustainability and respect for producers. Ash takes great care in building relationships with farmers and suppliers, while Erin balances her role as co-owner with front-of-house management. Riverine Rabbit has been recognised with a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand and Young Chef of the Year awards in 2025.
