One of the best examples of ATRIO’s all-in-one approach is the Mayan Restaurant Project — a standout that brought together our creative thinking, technical precision, and hands-on delivery.
The client came to us with a bold brief: to create a high-end dining space that felt immersive, emotional, and rooted in Mayan heritage. They didn’t just want a beautiful restaurant — they wanted a transportive experience. We took on the full journey, from initial concept through to the final build, ensuring that every detail supported the original vision.
Inspired by ancient Mayan architecture and natural Central American landscapes, I led the design with a focus on authenticity, atmosphere, and elegance. We used a palette of deep earthy tones, lush greens, and warm golds, layered with organic textures like stone, wood, and handmade finishes. The result was a space that felt grounded, soulful, and elevated — a modern interpretation of a rich cultural story.
Our build team worked hand-in-hand with our design team, making sure that no detail was lost in translation. We sourced custom pieces, collaborated with artisan makers, and managed every element — from lighting design to furniture installation — to ensure consistency in quality and experience.
The restaurant doesn’t just look good — it feels right. It’s a space that tells a story through texture, light, and material. Guests feel transported the moment they enter, and that emotional impact is what sets it apart.
That attention to detail and seamless delivery is what earned us the UK Regional Winner title at the International Design Awards in 2024. It was a proud moment, not just because we were recognised, but because it proved what’s possible when design and build come together under one roof.
