IT’S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN - SUMMER - AND THAT MEANS FESTIVAL SEASON!

For the line-ups of the UK’s biggest festivals - read on, because we have the inside info right here. We also list some of the more popular esoteric festivals out there...
Travis Scott, Chappell Roan, Bring Me the Horizon, Becky Hill and Hozier are all headlining this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals. Both take place on August 21 to 24, with different acts appearing on alternative days.
There’ll be plenty of mosh pits to dive in to and also the open-air, immersive, Chevron Stage – first introduced last year – with capacity for up to 40,000 people.
Reading initially launched in 1961 as a jazz festival but over the years it began to follow music trends. The smaller Leeds festival appeared on the scene in 1999 and grows in popularity every year. Expect to pay £325 for a weekend ticket.

Attracting 200,000 visitors annually and beamed in to thousands of UK homes over an entire weekend, Glastonbury needs no introduction. After all, Worthy Farm is the location for the largest - and most fabulous - greenfield festival in the world. And this year is set to be no exception. Incidentally, 2026 is a fallow year so 2025 should be particularly busy and crazy. Expect to see more than 100 stages,
Headliners for 2025 are Olivia Rodrigo and The 1975. There’s rumours Madonna will make a special appearance. It’s also been whispered that Sam Fender and Harry Styles may also pop by. Rod Stewart (who’ll perform in the Legend spot on Sunday afternoon) and Neil Young have already confirmed they’ll be at this year’s event, which is happening from June 25 to 29. Other big names include Alanis Morissette, Gracie Abrams, The Prodigy, Lola Young, Charli XCX and Biffy Clyro

More chilled than many other festivals of its size and ilk, Latitude is great for parents introducing kids to a first big music gathering. Taking place over four days (24 to 27 July) at Henham Park in Suffolk, headliners include Snow Patrol, Sting, Fatboy Slim, Kaiser Chiefs, Elbow and Basement Jaxx. But, of course, it’s not just about music.
You can also pass the time watching plays, tuning in to poetry and literature readings, or laughing your head off at organised and impromptu stand-up comedy. Then there’s the dance workshops, yoga, silent disco and a myriad of crafting activities to become engrossed in. An adult weekend ticket costs £308.

Described as a ‘boutique and glamping festival,’ Lost Village is billed as an immersive forest experience with pre-pitched tents and Michelin-starred chefs serving up gourmet food at banquets and glamorous pop-up restaurants.
Stages in this enchanted Lincoln forest, consist of aircraft hangars, scrapyards and the odd lost cabin or two. Embrace wellness, while enjoying comedy. When it comes to music, expect to see Caribou, Four Tet, Joy Orbison and Barry Can’t Swim this year from August 21 to 24. Tickets cost £330 plus a £5 booking fee.

Norfolk’s celebrated dance and music festival, Houghton is set in a huge Sculpture Park in the grounds of Houghton Hall. Popular with celebrities (Kate Middleton turned up last year apparently), expect to see many recognisable faces from stage and screen. DJ Craig Richards puts the sounds together – and has been for eight years now - while local artists provide tours and therapists show you how to reach peak wellness.
Jump aboard the floating pagoda restaurant and indulge in the many culinary delights. Opinionated? Then check out some of the discussions planned for the space-age like Armadillo.
Tickets start from £270.
A more upmarket festival than most (Sponsored by Audi), Wilderness offers a weekend of wellness, amazing food and the option to stay in a tepee. And if that’s not enticing enough, how about a sound bath or a quick sauna?
Set in Cornbury Park, a nature reserve in Oxfordshire, Wilderness takes place from July 31 to August 3. Headliners include rock band Supergrass, Nineties ravers Orbital, and Brit Award-winning indie-rock duo Wet Leg. Look out for Basement Jaxx, who’re returning to a live stage for the first time in a decade. Tickets start from £283.
One of the first events to kick off the festival season and now in its 23rd year, since the revival in 2002, the Isle of Wight has been around for even longer than Glastonbury. This year it boasts a fabulous line-up of mainstream music from the likes of Sting, Stereophonics, Justin Timberlake and Faithless. Then there’s Olly Murs, Jess Glynne, James, Elle Eyre, Paul Heaton, Razorlight and Supergrass.
The picturesque setting of Seaclose Park is a star in itself, while there’s the fun of the ferry ride across and back for the 55,000 or so festival attendees. Tickets for this event, from June 19 to 22nd, start from around £290 for a weekend camping ticket.
